Check out this great video
The Old Mega Zeph still stands today in the destroyed and abandoned Jazzland / Six Flags park, 19 years after Katrina stopped the fun in that very short-lived New Orleans Amusement park.
This iconic ride was indeed the largest ride at this once fun place and was the rebirth (in name anyway) of the legendary Zephyr from the iconic Pontchartrain Beach that closed in 1983.
At first, the idea was to take down what remained of this ride and then rebuild it to a like new condition. This would apply to only the superstructure as it is made of galvanized steel (an idea that we are still talking about) The problems are just a bit complicated as first we need to acquire the ride (it's not in our control) then take it down using extreme care. Move it the 80 miles or so to its new home, re-engineer it, and put it back together with all new bolts and so on, Sounds easy? Trust me, it's not.
Well to make a long story short we will indeed have a major coaster called Mega Zeph 2 in part used or all brand new. Stay tuned for more updates as we have them we will post them here first!
